Zeynep Ozbatur Atakan

January 1, 1966 — Istanbul, Turkey

Zeynep Atakan, who graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and Television, worked actively in the advertising sector between 1986-1999 and specialised in the field of production during these years.

In 2010, she was awarded the European Film Academy "Eurimages Producer of the Year" award. In the same year, Atakan founded Yapimlab Workshops, which aims to transfer experience and knowledge to young people in the field of cinema. Today, he still provides 360-degree trainings in the field of cinema with Yapimlab.

Since 2014, she has been the vice-president of the European Women Audiovisual Network, which aims to promote equal opportunities for women in audiovisual production in Europe and around the world.

Between 2011-2017, she served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Professional Association of Cinema Producers.

In 2014, she was awarded the Flying Broom Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award. Winter Sleep, which he produced, won the Palme d'Or, the most prestigious award of the festival, at the 67th Cannes Film Festival.

Again in 2014, he launched Antalya Film Forum, a co-production and project development market organised within the scope of the International Antalya Film Festival and served as its director until 2018.

In 2010, he founded YAPIMLAB to share his knowledge and experience with new generations, and he conducts workshops with national and international new generation filmmakers.

Since 2016, he has been the artistic director of the Sabanci Foundation Short Film Platform, launched by the Sabanci Foundation.

He organises the Turkey section of the 'Young Audience Award', a project of the European Film Academy.

He is a member of the Oscar Academy, European Film Academy and Asia Pacific Academy.

She continues as a film producer and trainer with Zeyno Film and Yapimlab, which she founded.
