Mio Tanaka (田中 みお, Tanaka Mio, born November 27, 1968) is a Japanese former model and actress. She was born in Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo.
In September 1982, while still a teenager, she made her debut as a nude model under the stage name Shōjo M (少女 M) in the exclusive photo album "Romance Part 2". In June 1983, she appeared in the video "Shōjo M 13-sai", which became a big hit and raised her popularity. Catapulted by this success, she featured in numerous adult magazines, becoming a major star and appearing on the cover on several occasions. In 1984, she starred in the film "Scrap: A Love Story", where she also sang the theme song and earned her the nomination for Best Newcomer Award at the Hochi Film Awards. After that, she changed her name to Mio Tanaka and was active as an actress and singer, participating under that name in some series and films until the 1990s.
