Christian Scheurer was born in Bern, Switzerland. Son of a zoologist father and an artist mother, he lived in several countries throughout his childhood, from the bush in South Africa to the Seychelles Islands. He made his abitur in math and science in Liestal, Switzerland, and went on to St. Luc Art Academy in Belgium, majoring in visual communications with an emphasis on graphic novels.After winning the prestigious Philip Morris Award for his graphic novels, he was selected to be one of the official artists of the 700-year celebration of Switzerland. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles to work for Jim Cameron’s VFX company, DIGITAL DOMAIN, on his first two feature films, Titanic and the Fifth Element.Since then, he has lent his unique creative vision to over 30 feature films, which have garnered a total of 16 Academy Awards. He specialises in high-concept architectural concepts, vehicles, creatures, and characters for major feature films, video games, and theme parks.
